2. Data collected when you open a page

When you open this website our server automatically processes the following access data:

• IP address
• the date and time of the request
• the page you opened and the response the server gave
• the address of the website you came from
• browser, operating system and type of device

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in operating the site securely and in defending against abusive requests. This data is kept only in the logs of the web server and is deleted after 14 days at the latest.

3. Search and your own weighting

When you search for a game on the start page or weight the axes yourself on a game's page, we count the search term and the chosen weights per day. Only the term with its count and the sum of the weights are stored, without IP address, without identifier and without any link to you. We use this count to improve what we offer. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Contact form

When you write to us through the form we process your message and the category you picked. Your name and email address are optional and only needed if you want a reply. We do not store an IP address or identifier with it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Messages we have dealt with are deleted 90 days after they were read. Messages that are still open stay stored until your request has been settled. Insulting or unlawful messages may be passed on to the responsible authorities for legal action.

5. Cookies and storage on your device

Strictly necessary storage, for which no consent is required (§ 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG):

• wm-thema, your choice of the light or dark display, in your browser's local storage until you delete it. It is not transmitted to us.
• wikimeter_admin, the sign-in to the non-public admin area, lifetime 7 days. It is not set for visitors.

Cookies requiring consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): cookies and similar identifiers set by our advertising partner Ezoic and the vendors it works with. They are only set after you have agreed in the consent banner. Section 6 has the detail.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time.

6. Advertising

We embed the technology of our advertising partner Ezoic. The provider is Ezoic Inc., 6023 Innovation Way, Carlsbad CA 92009, United States. Ezoic and the vendors it works with use cookies, similar technologies and device identifiers to serve ads and to measure how they perform. Personalized ads may be shown.

For visitors from the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, ads are only served after you have agreed in the consent banner. The banner is also provided by Ezoic and follows the Transparency and Consent Framework run by IAB Europe. For as long as you have not agreed, advertising, measurement and personalization stay blocked. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG.

Because Ezoic is based in the United States, data is transferred there as part of serving ads. Other vendors involved may also process data outside the European Union. Such transfers are based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission or on an adequacy decision.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. The settings are reachable through the consent banner. Section 9 lists which vendors can be involved.

7. Measuring reach

To analyse how the site is used we rely on the reach measurement of our advertising partner Ezoic, whose provider details are given in section 6. What is recorded is which pages are opened, how long they are read and what kind of device is used.

This measurement is tied to your consent as well. For as long as you have not agreed in the consent banner, no analytics cookies are set. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future through the consent banner.

8. Hosting

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes the technical data described in section 2 on our behalf, on servers located in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.
